Hello to my friends, family and “tramily” (trail family). “Welcome to my world” starts with my 2022 Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) adventure that I’m incredibly excited to share with all of you, and continues with my 2023 PCT adventure (so far).
This page is the intro: click on “PCT Posts” for the stories, pictures videos.
My 2022 adventure started on April 1st, 2022. The first part went to April 8th to Julian (mile 77). Then, I took a two week break because of knee pain, and then resumed part two on April 23rd which ended on May 4th (more knee issues) to saddle junction (mile 179.4), down “Devil’s Slide” where I hitched a ride at Humber Park back to Idyllwild. It was about 180 miles over about 18 days/nights (with the two week break in-between), and have amassed life long memories with my new “Tramily.” Hopefully, you’ll enjoy the PCT Posts and amazing stories of the many of the adventurers that I was lucky enough to encounter along with the gory details of my experiences.
PurpleJ is my “self assigned” trail name for the PCT: Purple is my favorite color and just a silly childhood fetish that still hasn’t changed. J seeeems obvious, but “J” is really meant to be, you know, like, “hey, let’s smoke a J”, joint, dooby, you get the drift; totally dating myself, but used to enjoy getting high in my high school days (yep, it was “high in school,” not “high school,” for me) until it started making me paranoid. Later, I found that hiking was a wayyyyy better high for me (and never made me paranoid), so there’s “J.” High on life, especially, when experiencing the beautiful outdoors and nature.
This will, hopefully, be a safe place for close friends, family and tramily to come and chat, write whatever tickles your fancy. No judging!!! And, be nice :-). Only my trusted friends get to play here. I’ll start blogs and HOPE you’ll read them, check out the pics, comment, add pics, etc
